| We carry out our mission by designing, building and managing patent portfolios for our clients which help them achieve their business goals and objectives. For each client, this involves preparing and prosecuting a set of strategically crafted patent applications in the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in Arlington, Virginia, and when needed, in the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) in Geneva, Switzerland, and in foreign patent offices world-wide. We also prepare and prosecute trademark and copyright applications on behalf of our clients, and maintain issued patents as well as trademark and copyright registrations throughout the world. We also negotiate sophisticated intellectual property transactions, including patent and trademark licenses and technology transfers, and render legal opinions on a broad range of intellectual property issues. We understand that our clients require a broad spectrum of services when competing in international markets. Therefore, we have carefully developed a global network of relationships with domestic and foreign intellectual property law firms to ensure a substantial capacity for securing and enforcing our clients' intellectual property rights world-wide. As a complement to our practice, the intellectual property law firms in the global network have attorneys who specialize in particular matters outside our firm's area of expertise, namely: in patent interferences and trademark oppositions and cancellations in the United States Patent and Trademark Office; in patent and trademark prosecution and opposition proceedings in the European, Japanese and other foreign patent offices; in patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret and related cases and controversies in the Federal Courts throughout the country, and in the national courts of Europe and around the world; in inter parte proceedings before the United States International Trade Commission (ITC); and in various alternative dispute resolution (ADR) proceedings world-wide.
